Valeri Meladze was born on June 23, 1965, in Batumi. He grew up in a family of engineers. His musical talent manifested itself early on—he played the piano and guitar and participated in school concerts.
After school, Valeri Meladze entered the Nikolaev Shipbuilding Institute to study mechanical engineering. However, during his studies, he devoted more and more time to music.
In 1992, Valeri Meladze's career reached a new level—he performed for the first time on stage with the song "Don't Disturb My Soul, Violin." Later, the artist performed several times at various festivals and Christmas gatherings with other famous performers.
In 1995, his first album, "Sera," was released—since then, Valeri Meladze's songs have consistently topped Russian radio charts. A key moment was the collaboration with his younger brother Konstantin Meladze, who began writing original compositions for him.
In the new millennium, Valeri Meladze did not slow down. The albums "Ocean" (2005), "Nega" (2003), "Vopreki" (2008) contained many hits, such as "Beautiful", "Vopreki", "Turn around".
In 2006, by decree of the President of Russia, Valeri Meladze was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He became a regular laureate of the Golden Gramophone award, receiving the award almost every year for new hits.
In parallel with music, Valeri tried himself as a TV presenter (the show "The Smartest", "Star Factory" as a mentor) and an actor, where he played himself.
Valeri Meladze's personal life is also filled with creativity and music. In 2014, the artist married his second wife, Albina Dzhanabaeva, a singer with the band ViaGra.
